Well, I've been off since Thursday and didn't see a reply to this. The highlighted characters are a "feature" that I wish could be turned off permanently. You can turn it off for each generation by going to the "Options" tab and unchecking the 'Format statements for readability' option. If there's a setting somewhere that controls this, I have not found it, nor does the Help indicate any way to turn it off.

I create all of my files using System i Navigator and then, as you did, generate the source using the System i Navigator option and set the member type to SQL. As regards the date, I do see it in SEU. Perhaps your source file has a longer record length than can be displayed on a single line. F11 scrolls the member left and right (back and forth, as it were). The row (numbers?) are a mystery; they show up on my members

Thanks.

Subject: Generate SQL option in iSeries Navigator

Gave the Generate SQL option in iSeries Navigator a try today. Works pretty slick (although there's a typo in the help - I was trying to see what it meant by partition.... ah, member (or memeber as the help says)). Anyway, I gave the source a type of SQL and opened it in WDSCi 7.0 and the line# and change date appeared as source. (Instead of off to the side, as it does with other manually created SQL members).

When I go into SEU, I don't see the row & date as source.

Also, the source generated has a bunch of junk characters (which I noticed in SEU as all highlighted blank characters).

Any suggestions would be great.

I'm at v5r4.

Thanks,
Kurt
