I suggest starting with the EGL Cafe that I mentioned in the previous link. Also, if you're planning to use EGL for modernization of i applications (that is, keeping your business logic in RPG), be sure to get IBMers who understand both EGL and i; there aren't that many.

Also note that IBM is working with a partner on a tool that converts RPG to EGL directly. I went in adamantly opposed to the idea, but the tool does as good a job as can be expected from such a conversion. The primary problem right now is that it's very pricey.

My point is that you need to know what your goal is - if you're steadfast in using RPG on the i for your business logic (which is the correct architecture for anybody except software vendors), then be sure that's what IBM is comig to train you on.

having IBM come on-site sometime in June for some training
I have done some googling (such a word exists?) but if you can point me to
some web sites that you consider a must read, I would be very grateful
