I think they changed their greatest asset, their search algorithm, and
to their detriment.
They're always changing their search algorithm. Seriously, I doubt a
week goes by that there's not some tweak to the routine. Also, there
isn't a single algorithm for all of Google. Google "tests" different
algorithms in different data centers across the globe. Remember, Google
is an _extremely_ distributed compute environment. On any given day, for
the same exact query you and I might get different results as you may go
to data center 1 and I may go to data center 2.
