Dave -
The disks likely aren't fried...would it not be possible to find someone who
has a 170, load them in it, IPL, then back it up?

Thank you all for your replies. This is an old Model 170 that took a power
hit. Looks like it is toast. No maintenance on it and the last backup is 3
years ago and they are not sure what kind of backup it was
The fun is just starting now
