Well 4 reasons to keep the 270

1) Separation of development and production machine for Sox purposes.
2) It still runs fast and reliably
3) Ripoff licensing on moving BCD software to the new machine (see #1)
4) It makes a sturdy doorstop!
The new machine is to get current on OS level and get new hopefully long
lasting hardware on a crucial resource.

Happy Friday!

The question: In the transfer scenario how long do you have to transfer
licenses? I am under the impression it is 14 days. I also realize we can

You will receive permanent keys for the new machine. They will not
expire. Meaning: There will be no technical restrictions to move to
the new box, only legal obligations.

The timeline we've always heard from IBM was "ASAP" - meaning after
you have tested everything.

seems more cost effective since we still can keep the old box live.

Why do you want to keep a model 270? An expensive space heater or a
doorstopper?
