In your own terminal emulator then yes. In someone else's then no
unless they've exposed that as a configuration option. The device
type and model are specified as part of the TELNET negotiation phase
during connexion to the host. Most emulators simply give the user the
choice of 24*80 or 27*132 size displays and then derive an
appropriate device from that. In the case of PC5250 it is 3179-2 or
3477-FC. If DBCS is required then model 5555-?? is used (can't recall
the types and don't have time to look it up). Given that most
emulators copy what PC5250 does then I'd say unlikely to be
supported however look in the PC5250 .ws file and see if the device
type is specified there. You may be able to override it.
