In addition to changing your backup policy end of tape attribute to
*rewind, try creating a move policy for the weekend saves that will hold
the media in the tape library location for x number of days. For
example:
(where DEVLTOGEN2 is the tape library location). Adjust the duration as
needed.
You can either create a move policy (and duplicate backup policy) per
weekend day, or just set the duration for the library location
sufficiently high...then manually move the weekend media on Monday
morning.
We implemented this for our older, single i/o slot 3582 libraries back
in the day, and it worked well.
