Thanks for your reply Richard
I know about using hex fields for the attributes, but how can this be
applied in the following manner
I want to highlight/reverse image positions 10 through 16 (inclusive) of a
40 character field
then on the next display I want to highlight/reverse image positions 2
through 27 (inclusive) of the same 40 character field

In a HLL (i.e. RPGLE), you can place hex values in the character field
to change the attributes:

X'20' = Green
X'21' = Green RI
X'22' = White
X'23' = White RI
X'24' = Green UL
X'25' = Green RI & UL
X'26' = White UL
X'27' = Non Display
X'28' = Red
X'29' = Red RI
X'2A' = Red Blink
X'2B' = Red RI Blink
X'2C' = Red UL
X'2D' = Red RI & UL
X'2E' = Red UL Blink
X'2F' = Non Display
X'30' = Turquoise
X'31' = Turquoise RI
X'32' = Yellow
X'33' = Yellow RI
X'34' = Turquoise UL
X'35' = Turquoise RI & UL
X'36' = Yellow UL
X'37' = Column Separated, Non Display
X'38' = Pink
X'39' = Pink RI
X'3A' = Blue
X'3B' = Blue RI
X'3C' = Pink UL
X'3D' = Pink RI & UL
X'3E' = Blue UL

Morning all
A quick question, and hopefully quick positive answers If I have a field
of length 40 characters, within a DSPF, is there a way to
highlight/reverse image only a portion of that field, and that portion
could be different each and every time.

Thanks in advance
