I'm not sure that I follow you. What is a * parameter?
Normally, in API docs, you'd see CHAR(*) (or another data type with (*)
after it) and that means the length of the parameter is variable. It
does NOT mean that the parameter is optional or omissible.
But (*) by itself without a data type doesn't mean anything that I know
of. What are you referring to?
