The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Brian,
Building permanent indexes over frequently-used tables REALLY improved
the performance of our QZDASOINIT jobs. We have excellent, acceptable
response time now with QZDASOINIT and other jobs.
Years ago my attempt to limit the number of QZDASOINIT jobs allowed in
QUSRWRK subsystem was futile because new QZDASOINIT jobs simply spawned
into QSYSWRK subsystem after maxing out the number of jobs I imposed on
QUSRWRK subsystem.
I experimented with making changes to the parms to Prestart Job entries
and after much frustration, trial and error I settled on the settings
shown here.
Subsystem description: QUSRWRK Status: ACTIVE
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
///////
Command DSPACTPJ SBS(QUSRWRK) PGM(QZDASOINIT)
shows that we peaked out at 47 jobs at some point since 12/08/2008.
