RE: Best Practices on DB2 SQL Databases

For those nay-sayers out there, this DOES NOT mean DB2/400 is a
non-conforming database. It just has some extra features to make it
backwards compatible with long-standing practices

Of course... and IEs screwed up box model isn't non-conforming either,
it's there for backwards compatibility. :-)

In fairness, the extra features aren't changes to what the rest of the
world has, it's an _additional_ feature. However, IMHO, the
non-conforming part is that most RPG developers won't use long field
names in their code. If you use long names in RPG then you don't care
what the short names are, right?
