we have jobs wih USER name ... then personnel turn-over.
4 a while we used a former employee name, that could not sign on, as the
owner of wome jobs, where there are generic reports run every day, for
general distribution

when a former employee is gone, and we disable their sign-on, there's an
option to list all the stuff that is in their name ... we then clean that
stuff up ... i suspect if we deleted the user profile, strange stuff might
happen to the stuff in their name

we had a scenario where upper management wanted some reports re-run as if
they had run a week earlier. i changed system date so it was a few days
earlier. i will never do that again. what a nightmare. not as bad as the
time we were at 110% disk space used.

I have never lost a job from the scheduler unless someone deleted it.
I'm not saying that It is not possible, just that I have never seen
it in 20+ years on the i and versions previous.

Hello,

Has anyone had any problems with the IBM job Scheduler (WRKJOBSCDE)
dropping jobs?

We have had a couple of instances in the last few months where jobs that
we thought were regularly scheduled to run were just not there in the
job scheduler. There has been some turnover, so we do not know for a
fact that the jobs were there before and then went missing, but the jobs
in question would (or should have) been noticed by the users and they
were not noticed for quite awhile (one case almost two months for
something that updates descriptions in the item master).

We will be watching what is going on more closely now to be sure we are
not imagining anything, but thought I would check to see if anyone else
had similar problems.

Thanks

Dave
