The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Unfortunately, the ovrdbf to *libl are in hand-coded programs.
Occasionally the override is to a named library. I think the original
author wanted to "document" all the files used by the called RPG
program.
In the interim, I will remove the overrides to *libl, but due to a time
crunch to get the vendor updates and our inhouse changes tested, will
retain the called RPG (III/400) programs.

Unlike DCLF there is no format data saved with OVRDBF. So, no, a file
layout change will not generate an exception message.
And that sample OVRDBF sounds like something generated by a code
generator
or a CASE tool. One that didn't allow for elimination of the OVRDBF if
not necessary. There are an awful lot of CL programs out there who's
sole
value was to do OVRDBF's. Many of which can be eliminated by versions
of
RPG that have been out for a decade or so.
