Like a total newbie I did the above, or rather tried to do the above.
The little voice inside me screaming, "but you don't know why you should
do it!" The voice being overruled, the first two commands worked like a
champ, the 3rd blowing up with "cnntype(*vpn) not allowed".
Result? My V5R2 system had lost all means of making a service call
because all of the service configurations had been deleted. Call to HW
resulted in a conference call to SW which resulted in over an hour of
work rebuilding the setup. The system, which previously had a working
configuration of a direct to internet Universal Connection, now
intermittently can make a phone call.
Trying to get back to the direct to internet setup, I receive TCP8552.
This points to VPN setup, but when I try to troubleshoot this, most
everything points to Cryptographic Support being installed. Crypto
isn't installed and I didn't need it before. So, I'm stuck trying to
figure out how to get the VPN side going for Universal Connection.
