The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

It's happening more frequently when we do our monthly IPL of one of our
production partitions that the QGLDSVR won't end. Eventually we have to
force the power off for the partition and restart it. A look into
Google says this is the LDAP server and I have no idea why it should
hang. It also shows a relationship to Java and Websphere, neither of
which are used on our AS/400. We only use the Apache server.
Do I need this server running? If so, why would it hang? We're running
V5R4 and IBM has had us install several PTFs to fix it but no fix has
helped. It's not something we can easily test as we only IPL monthly.
And, sometimes it doesn't hang.
Any ideas?
