Is there a way to, under host control, suppress column separators for
attributes Hex 30 through Hex 36?
No. The column seperators are simply a hex sequence that is sent by the
host. The same hex sequence for column seperators is also sent for the
colour yellow and pink. A strict interpretation of the protocol is that
hex seperators should appear whenever the hex sequence is received, but
most emulators realize that the seperators are really wanted these days
and offer a way to suppress them. So the only way to prevent the host
from sending column seperators is avoid them in the screen files - don't
code them or use yellow or pink.
(And is it just me, or does it seem like the emulators with the most
obnoxious column seps are the ones that don't provide a way for even the
user to disable them?)
Which ones don't allow it?
