Bryan,

Sigh, my apologies. I did it again - neglected to change the subject line
before hitting the send button.

I'm assuming some sort of development process is in progress and one item at
a time is being called by your former programmer.

How about doing something like placing the qualified requested program in a
data area and have a CL run the program. For example, the contents of
PGMDTAARA is the qualified program SOMELIB/SOMEPGM. The CL would do
something like this

RTVDTAARA DTAARA(SPECIALLIB/PGMDTAARA) RTNVAR &PGM2RUN

CALL PGM(&PGM2RUN)

If desired you could prompt the call to allow the former programmer to enter
parameters.

You grant access to the CL program when your former programmer requests to
use it. You also change the data area to contain the program your former
programmer wants to run.

Numerous variations on this theme abound.

subject: CALL an Unspecified Program Without a Command Line

I need to give a former programmer the ability to CALL a program and I don't
know which program and I don't want to give him command line access. This
will be temporary until he can specify the programs, at which time I'll just
create menu options for him.

Is this possible?
