hmm. Thanks Brian.

It's possible I placed my alias override on the first instance of the
field instead of the second. I'll give it a whirl this morning and
see if that was the problem.

Using ALIAS keyword to override the referenced field's ALIAS works for me.
Here's a bit of working DSPF DDS:


A 6 65'Begin Date/Time:'
A F1BDAT R 6 82REFFLD(YMD)
A EDTCDE(Y)
A 7 65'End Date/Time:'
A F1EDAT R 7 82REFFLD(YMD)
A EDTCDE(Y)
A ALIAS(YMD1)
