In the older versions of OS there were no native ways of saving spool
files. We upgraded hardware often enough with certain upgrades that
required complete unload/reload's that we used that as an excuse to purge
spool files.
Now, I have a routine that deletes any spool file over x days old - no
exceptions.
Hey, if you are not saving them they can't be vital, right?
