Subject: Question (pre-newbie) about DB2
To: "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I know that the DB2 which runs on z/OS is different from the
DB2 which
runs on Linux/Windows. DB2 on "distributed"
systems is called UDB. Is
the DB2 on the i the same as UDB, or is it a i-only
variant? I ask
because I had heard that DB2 on the i was different from
the other DB2
versions. From what my manager is saying, it looks like we
are very
likely to move from our z to an i sometime in late 2009 or
early 2010. I
don't know if this means that __I__ will get retrained
or axed.
