From: Adam West
Someone had mentioned an i based ERP that has the same
pretty screens displays as windows.

Whether it's "pretty" or not, I'll post a screen shot of one of my applications and let you decide for yourself:

Of course, "pretty" is unimportant when compared to "productive", but I think it's important to note that one can write both RPG based applications for traditional database maintenance activities as well as Web 2.0 activities such as forums, chats, email, group calendars, RSS feeds, blogs, and other community and social networking type activities.

The application in the screen-shot may not be part of an ERP package, but it's written in RPG and runs natively under IBM i. The UI, of course is written in HTML and JavaScript and runs in a browser. With some luck, I hope to help write an ERP package at some point.

The IBM i platform needs more of these types of applications, and yes, they compete well against applications that run under Windows.

Nathan.
