Actually source from forever cannot be compiled, or if compiled perhaps
not executed, on later releases. Like the EDTDOC command. Or SQLRPGLE
programs needing to have SQL statements physically arranged as they would
be logically executed - regardless if they are in subprocedures or not, in
V6R1. Or...

But that's just some details.

The point is that there are some DOS stuff that can still run on Vista.
Yes, probably more that can't. So the argument that "we can run a V2R3
program on V6R1 while you can't run a DOS 1.1 item on Vista" is not an
absolute.

In both cases many times you probably could still run the same application
but would you want to, or would the market still want it?
