That works pretty good. I wrote an app last year to "push" some records from System A to System B. And it was in an existing interactive application; users didn't even notice. And the embedded SQL had to use the PREPARE method, which I keep hearing here is the slow method.

Outside of the SQL the only thing I had to do outside of the program was to use the ADDRDBDIRE command. The program, when compiled, does create an SQL package on the receiving system. I mention that because I usually write programs on a development box and just port them to production and install; this time I had to re-compile.

Got everything I needed to write this from the "Modernizing iSeries Application Access - A Roadmap Cornerstone" Redbook, which Birgitta, Sharon, and others wrote.
