As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Several of my clients get BO from their ISV as part of the package. Every
one of them, however, uses SEQUEL for the bulk of their reporting.
They don't like the overhead BO places on their system, and they sure as
heck don't want the overhead on their payroll.

Subject: Anybody using Business Objects XI against the System i
Anybody out there using Business Objects XI against the System i?
Just looking for general feedback and/or things to be aware of.
In the past, we've always used BO over data in Oracle and SQL server.
One specific question, it seems that BO includes a "data access
driver" for "DB2 UDB for iSeries v5". In addition, JDBC drivers are
supported by BO. Is there any advantages/disadvantages to choosing
one connection method over the other? I'd think that the JT-Open JDBC
driver was more up-to-date, but that doesn't mean that BO would
benefit by that fact.
Speaking of the BO "data access driver", does anybody know how it
works? It seems to imply that you don't need the IBM provided
ODBC/OLEDB/.NET driver.
Thanks!
