Peter,

There doesn't appear, from your example, that there is any commonality between the two tables. If there was, such as Item#, you could simply join the tables.

You didn't state your goal, but, if it is to replace the duality with a singularity, creating the DDS would be a snap; SEU and WDSc can both handle that chore. But, then, how would you populate the new table since there still is no common element?

Perhaps a little more information as to the final goal might be helpful.

Thanks.

Subject: Merging 2 files' DDS to create a third NEW DDS

Hi list:

I need to see how feasible this would be.

I have FILE#1:
1) ITEM
2) TYPE
3) DESCRIPTION

I also have FILE#2:
1) WAREHOUSE
2) PLANNER

My goal is not to mixed the data. I want to create a new DDS with the
merge of FILE#1 and FILE#2. The third NEW file should look like:
1) ITEM
2) TYPE
3) DESCRIPTION
4) WAREHOUSE
5) PLANNER

I want to do this within a CLP.

Any ideas?

TIA,
