Finally got the solution for the failure to install from the virtual
media I uploaded to VIOS. The problem was simple (as they all have been
so far), I failed to change to binary transfer type when I ftp'd the
image up to VIOS. Once I solved that (thanks to a simple question from
Vess) the install ran. I did have a bit of an issue with the console
though. I did have Operations Console running as I started the
partition, but I failed to get a login prompt. I disconnected, deleted
the console profile and then recreated it (using the same IP address)
and this time I got a login. I used the "standard" 11111111 login to
start the install of LIC.
It is initializing the disk (3 hour estimate on 136GB) and I am trying
to figure out how to load the licensed programs once the LIC is
installed since I don't have a functional DVD-ROM drive (yet).
It is the simple stuff that hurts you the most.
