The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Simon, this API is a strange mix of things. From the documentation

I noticed that but didn't think much of it until now. I can see this
being irritating when programmatically generating e-mail.
It does also require PASE.
Hence my comments.
At least the older API, QtmmSendMail, does not need one to be in the
SDD!!!
QtmmSendMail lets the caller specify ANY originator address.
QtmsCreateSendEmail derives the originator information from the SDD.
Perhaps the author thinks they're being helpful?
So what is the point of this one, I wonder?
Primarily support for S/MIME plus embedded CCSID support so the
caller doesn't have to convert to CCSID 500 (or 367 for the headers)
plus caller doesn't have to create a file first. So it seems to have
some advantages.
My issue is with the continued use of PASE to support things like
this. I want OpenSSL to run natively, I want native e-mail, I DON'T
WANT DEPENDENCIES ON PASE. I've said it before but providing a Win31
run-time environment for OS/2 was a major contributor to its death.
PASE for OS/400 is exactly the same. Once everything runs in PASE why
use OS/400? Just migrate to Unix. I, and most discerning technicians,
understand the technical benefits of OS/400 over Unix but none of the
current crop of developers seem to understand. Unix is what they
know, it's what they're used to, and they can't see anything wrong
with it.

Simon Coulter.
