Lucas

Many thanks - I couldn't find it using search but I have now updated hosts
and can ping with both domain name and IP.

However, I cannot access Network Folders on my V5r1 machine using Vista. I
did try the suggestions that you made to Chad Carroll early last year but
without success.

Is there anyone out there who has managed to access network folders on an i
Series before V5R4 using Vista and, if so, how did you manage it?

Many thanks

Rob Dixon

I have seen problems in the archives on this but I haven't been able to
get
started because I can't find the "hosts" file and don't know what the
equivalent function is in Vista to translate URL to IP.

The Hosts File is located in
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Remember that Windows uses a variety of other functions to resolve
names - DNS, WINS, NetBIOS Broadcasts, etc.
