I finally found an answer to my own question - you can download more rows
and columns into Excel 2007 by using iSeries Access 6.1, according to:
http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/i5/august08/trends/21493p1.aspx

We are getting by with the BIFF7 and 8 that was suggested by a couple
people - thanks.

Our accountants upgraded to Excel 2007 so they could get past the 65,000
row limit, but have found out that they still can't download more than
this with iSeries Access V5R4. Before I explore other file transfer
mechanisms or solutions, does anyone know if this has a setting, a PTF, or

has been changed in V6 to allow more than 65,000 row downloads?
