I need to elaborate an automated process to read all the journals that are
running on a PF at a given time. Somebody told me that this info cannot
be retrieved by simply using for example DSPFD FILE(Lib/File) TYPE(*MBR)
OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(QTEMP/TEST). I got positive results with a file
that I know has one journal attached to it; however, I tried to look for a
file with more than one to see if the DSPFD will generate 2 records (one
per journal info) instead of simply one. Probably what I am trying to
test is if the DSPFD TYPE(*MBR) will generate one record per member and
not based on the number of journals it has.
If that is the case, I can't use DSPFD. I need to know all the journals
that may be active in a PF. I need to have that data in a file that I can
later read and do some additional actions. Is this possible with DSPFD?
If not, is there a system file with all the journals active in the system,
something similar to the QADBXREF system file?
Your help is always appreciated.
Have a great day everybody!!
