One thing I would suggest is to create an intermediate file to accept the
input of the Excel Sheet (usually I use CPYFROMIMPF from a .csv).

And then I can run an edit report of the values being imported.

Note that youi should also define all the fields as ALWNULL in the
intermediate file, and program for nulls. (This is not that hard - just
turn on %NULLIND().
