Hi,

I am having trouble executing the STRPCCMD from a PC using Bosanova TCP/IP
emulation to connect to the i-Series. The PC is on the same network as the
i-series. The private address of AS400 is 192.168.100.7.

To ketp it simple - I want to display an image stored in a folder called
"test" as file 104.jpg on the AS400. From the PC I am able to map the
network drive (say E) to \\192.168.100.7\test.

If on the Windows Start -> Run box I enter the command E:104.jpg, the image
pops up on the PC.

But on the AS400 if I give command STRPCO *no followed by STRPCCMD
PCCMD('E:104.jpg') it goes right back to the command line. I have tried all
variations I could think of like PCCMD('start E:104.jpg) or putting the
actual path enclosed in double quotes, with no success. The default of PAUSE
parameter is *yes.

The strange part is, if I do STRPCCMD('notepad.exe'), the notepad pops up on
the PC.

And it all works, if I try it from a PC using i-series Access, even though
the that PC is outside the network, so I am using the live IP address
\\64.x.xx.xxx.

Also tried using the live address from the Bosanova PC, with the same
result.

Any suggestions?

TIA
Vinay
