A couple of years ago when this box (9406 [power 5] 520)was on V5R3M0 I
tried to install Linux using a DVD and ran into problems. I am trying
again today and seeing similar results. Has anybody done an install of
Linux as a hosted partition using a DVD as the install source? The CD
is flashing like crazy when I start the NWSD but then the install falls
over to a BOOTP mode.
I had configured the partition using the HMC. Had initially activated
the partition using the HMC and then shut it down to initialize the
firmware but it won't start the install. The image path in the NWSD is
valid (checked and double checked).
Suggestions? Pointers? (I did a search and found my post from two years
ago but no resolution)
