The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
We just implemented KwikTag and I'm extremely happy with it. However,
it is not available (to my knowledge) on the i. But, what we purchased
their new KwikTag 'appliance'. This is a rack-mount Win2003 server with
all of the necessary software pre-installed and configured. There is
literally NO maintenance from my the IT end. Yes, we'll pay our annual
maintenance, but then ImageTag (the vendor) does all of the maintenance
to that box.
The link to their site is:

I was very impressed with the product and the ease of getting it up and
running (from unboxing to running with users able to scan and index was
about 1/2 a day). KwikTag has been around for some time, but the
appliance is a brand new product for them. We are a beta site. In the
past I've worked with IBMs ImagePlus and with the IMS21 system, but have
never seen anything quite this easy to implement.
I realize it is a non-IBM solution, but it also doesn't take any IT to
support it...

We are currently using RVI and it is less than desirable in a lot of ways.
I would like to be able to foward some suggestions on other packages to
management, so if you would not mind telling me which package you are
using and what you like or dislike about it, I would be most appreciative.
