I haven't had a lot of experience with DB2 Web Query, but I'll bet you
can do nicer stuff quicker with JasperReports, iReport, and
JasperServer. And it's all free (open source). Uses JDBC in JTOpen or
JT400 to connect to the i. See

We're preparing for a system upgrade from V5R3 to the new i OS 6.1. One
of the things I'm concerned about is the cost of DB2 Web Query, and it's
additional add-ons.
I would appreciate any comments those of you who have done the V6R1
upgrade can share about your level of satisfaction with DB2 Web Query,
unexpected costs, and cost of Information Builders add-ons, or
alternative products you have reviewed or chosen as alternatives to DB2
Web Query.
