If your iSeries is delivering the mail directly to the recipient's
mail servers, then AT&T won't have any effect on it.

Well... that depends. It's not uncommon for ISPs to require that you
relay your mail through them. They actually block outbound TCP/25
traffic so you can't bypass their SMTP servers. I would expect this on
residential connections all the time, business connections are a toss
up.
