I have restored (from nightly backup tapes) files in folders not
listed in the folder listing provided by F14 so I'm not sure what is
causing them to be backed up if it isn't the SETUPBCKUP programs. I
was trying to turn off some of the folders when I discovered that most
aren't even listed there. I am not testing some of our folders to
insure that they are indeed being backed up. This has brought up a
new question:

I am using the RST to restore IFS files but I see that people have
given some of the files names with apostrophes in them. The RST does
not like this. What would be the proper way to enter this command:
RST DEV('/qsys.lib/tap01.devd') OBJ(('/Cost Files/812 (STE's).xls'))

Interesting. We have defined our own backup procedure so I never had a reason to even know this existed.

But I took a look, anyway. The folders that it lists are all QDLS folders (same as one sees with the WRKFLR command). F14 is supposed to provide the means by which additional folders can be added, but it did not recognize wither USR or \USR\PROJECTS (one of our IFS folders). The Help text, as you probably discovered, isn't very helpful.

In short, it would not appear to recognize anything outside of QDLS. If the Backup and Recovery manual, which I didn't peruse, isn't more helpful, this would seem to be a candidate for a DCR and iSociety/COMMON Requirement (see Midrange.Com's home page for a link).

When I use the SETUPBCKUP screen and select 11 to look at my folder
list, only a few of my IFS folders are available. How can I get the
other IFS folders listed so that they can be backed up as well?
