Mike,

You are on the right track, but the contents of the data area
doesn't get changed, it's the last SAVE Date and Time that you need to
retrieve. Do a DSPOBJD on the data area, and then put a 5 on it.
Scroll down and you will see the last Save/Restore heading, and its
value is in there.

My boss is wanting to perform some auditing over daily and system saves.
We were looking at the data areas QSAVSYS, QSAVCFG, etc to determine
last date of system save. However when we look at these data areas,
there is nothing in them. We are running a custom system save, but
definitely running SAVSYS. As I read it, the data area QSAVSYS should
be updated when running SAVSYS.

What might be causing this? Is this not the correct way to determine
last save date?
