To make the SELECT query generate a P(14,2) field, change the expression defining FinlTot to become:
DECIMAL(expression, 14, 2)

I have a query that receives a 4 byte branchnbr as a parameter and
then outputs data to a file. The fields in the query are branchnbr
(4, 0) sequence (2, 0) Description (25) FinlTot (14,2). The first
three fields come directly from the file being queried. FinlTot is a
result field. When I run the query using strqmqry the lengths stay
the same on the first three fields, but the length of Finltot is
changed from 14,2 to 20,2.

But Long story short, is there a way
to stop query manager from changing the length in the first place?
