I have developed such a tool in the past. Actually two versions of the tool -- one that runs in the same job as the interactive display, one that runs in a separate job. Neither require any application coding changes. Both run transparent to the user.

You can contact me directly if you would like to discuss use of the tool. Generally I customize the tool to the companies specific needs.
