One freebie worth looking at is cygwin. This is a DLL that runs nicely on
Windoze. Has many of the utilities common to Unix/Linux. One in particular is
diff. The diff command >may< be able to handle such large files, copied to IFS.
If not, it will complain that files are too different. That is not
particularly helpful in this case. I do not know how many lines the diff
command can skip when attempting to synchronize multiple files.

windows desktop and use a PC based file comparison utility.
There used to be a number of freebies lying around on the 'net...
