The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Not really sure. At one time we replaced a NetServer share with an IXS
card running on the same iSeries and that was a lot better. Suspect
either Windows is better at simple file sharing, or offloading the
processing to the IXS card.
Dumped IXS for iSCSI and a blade center when all 9 of our IXS cards were
incompatible with Power hardware.
Never could get the performance with Vmware that we wanted with iSCSI and
dumped iSCSI for NetApp using the same blade center. Another big sell
with that was the duplication from the NetApp on primary rack with the
NetApp on the secondary rack.
