We have 2 LPARs that are set up as "required" resources. now it's been determined that we need to merge the 2 LPARs. has anyone done this? seems like a lot of HMC work. i can use dynamic LPAR allocations for desired resources easy enough but i've never had to move required resources around. is there an easy way to do this? or can someone point me to some *good* documentation on how to do this (step-by-step would be too good 8^) )?

Thanks,

Well you are basically going to DELETE 2nd LPAR. Depending on what you want to do with the data in that 2nd LPAR...
#1 Full System Save of 2nd LPAR
#2 After Powering down both LPARs Delete the 2nd LPARs Profile and Partition
#3 Modify LPAR #1 Profile to include all the available HW including the new disk etc
#4 Brinig up LPAR#1 and Add the disks to the ASP ( either in DST or SST )
#5 Restore whatever you need from the tape.

I know this is the 30,000ft level but its pretty close.
