Not really familiar with that card. However, this is a technique I've
used in the past to hardware restart cards. Basically the same procedure
can be used to prepare a card to be manually removed and/or replaced while
the system is running.
STRSST
1. Start a service tool
7. Hardware service manager
1. Packaging hardware resources (systems, frames, cards,...)
9=Hardware contained within package
3=Concurrent maintenance
2=Toggle LED blink off/on
(used to verify that you are working with the right card)
F9=Power off domain
(wait until complete. If you're replacing or removing a card, do it
now.)
F10=Power on domain
(a screen may pop up where you have to attach it to another card, like
it's associated IOP)
I used to have cards associated with 3581 tape drives that I had to do
this with on occasion. And some MF* ptf's this may be the "Special
Instructions" in lieu of an IPL.

Console Problem on Model 270
For anyone that has prior experience. Our serial attached console pc has
detached from the system and will not communicate over its normal COM
port.
Service wants us to do a cold boot to reset the async card software. Being
almost a 24/7 shop this is pretty inconvenient. Any advice as to how to
force it to communicate short of the reboot?
Tnanks!
