Interesting idea! Since this is a batch process, using qsh and cat already generates a spooled file (since there is no terminal on which to display it.) Now I just have to figure out where to balance on "easy" vs "better" in the process. Thanks.

Copy stmf to splf?

I've gone the other way around, but is it possible to copy a stream file to a spooled file? I tried just using CPY to do it (as CPYF to QPRINT works for db files) but that just killed my printer file. No luck on CPYFRMSTMF or CPYFRMIMPF (not that I really expected them to work, but I had to try.)

My thought at this moment is to open the stmf in an rpg program then just write records to QPRINT or other printer file.
