Sandra,

I would strongly suggest that you get them to provide a test machine of the actual model for a couple of weeks.

I had a customer get one 5 years ago. The retailer promised that it was completely HP PCL compatible. After delivery they gave me a disk with "unix" drivers to load on the /400! The plan was to also use HPT and AFPDS/IPDS. Never got duplexing or *PAGSEG images to work on it, although other "plain text" printing worked.

Last year they looked at another to replace it and again they promised complete HP PCL compatibility. This time I got them to provide a trial system. Still had some minor issues with images and never got the drawer select to work. They went with another retailer and a color Cannon that has been a lot easier to get as much functionality as HPT allows. I did have to use a *WSCT to get the drawer selection (5 drawers) right.

The "boys" are looking to switch the type of printers we lease for the big multifunction monsters in our business.
Has anyone had any luck formatting or setting up Konica Minolta multifunction printers w/the iSeries? We currently lease some Sharps - which I've had to set up as 'fake' devices and outqs only to work...
Was hoping with Konica Minolta's I had a better chance of making it a "real" device with more iSeries control.
Any input welcome - thanks in advance -
Sandy
