The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

It would seem that STRREXPRC, or the SQL that it ran also started
the commitment control.
COMMIT *CHG is the default for SQL programs in RPG, COBOL, Fortran,
PL/1, C, and C++ so it would make sense for Rexx to follow suit.
The shame ! Obviously I didn't test the whole batch sequence of
programs, only my own.
Any last words before I set my own commitment control to hara-kiri ?
You can add ENDCMTCTL to your Rexx procedure
**OR**
you can do what someone else suggested when you originally
encountered SQL -7008.
ADDRESS EXECSQL EXECSQL "SET OPTION COMMIT=*NONE"

Simon Coulter.
