Yep - and IMHO this is a huge problem.
As for software, I really don't think you can do proper systems
development with VS Express. Someone else can chime in. If not, add
another 6-7K for VS Professional. Then you have 25K vs 12K. Is i5/OS
worth twice Windows? You have to decide that for yourself.
Well, comparing the software 100% fairly is not possible. e.G. SBS
includes Exchange and SPS, where the IBM aequivalent would be
Domino/Notes. So i still think the end price tag is somewhat valid.
(Yes, SBS is dirt cheap exactly to get you hooked on the whole
Microsoft thing - prices as soon as you move past the 30-40 user range
and in the territory of multiple Windows servers will be en-par with
IBM. While this is nice to know, a Small Business does not give a f*ck
about this)
