<SNIP>
CIOs and CTOs tend to enjoy adding "new" technologies to their
infrastructure...just because it's "new" and therefore *must* be
innovative and "cool". So folks let's put on our party hats and *DON'T*
mention "It's OS/400 (or i5/OS) with a new name" but rather "hey check
out this new OS...it's called IBM i".
<SNIP>

Please excuse the late posting. I was busy trying to find my Serial
Asynchronous Character Encoding Device. Oh, didn't you get the Memory
Management Information Disseminator?

In plain English, I was looking for my keyboard, and I guess you didn't
get the memo.

And if we were to similarly innovate, we would be looking for a new
employer because they wouldn't see the humor. So I propose that
specifically for these marketing weenies (and the CxOs who want to be
Kuhl), putting them all in a room, or a structural containment device
with a human oriented portal, and deny egress until they are able to
define on enhanced wood fibrous dual dimensional information holders
exactly how to remove themselves from such an environment. Prior to
doing this, we would have to re-moniker and [re]brand all items that
said weenies would use, so they would enjoy the hell they put everyone
else through while they are being cute, er, Kuhl!!!

Oh, and let's take all the PTO people and run them through this once. A
widget by any other name is still a widget, so why issue a patent for a
wadget?

Steve Thompson
