Define "outside". Are we talking 5250 only? If so, then the common
resolution is to put an initial program there that uses the IP address of
who signed in and logs that. I forget the name of the API, but if you
scan the archives for RTVIPADR you'll probably find it.

If you want to trap anything that may show up in NETSTAT *CNN that's not a
local address that's a different ball game. That should include not only
5250 (which is telnet or port 23) but also ftp, shared folders, etc.
Traditionally it was done by the vast myriad of exit points (hence the
Power Locks, NetIQ's, BSafe, etc). Not sure if there is a way to log
NETSTAT *CNN. WRKSYSVAL QAUD* perhaps?
